Not Buying
in 2009, i resolved to spend less money on things, and more money on travel. to ensure success, i made this blog to chronicle what i want to buy but won't. it is window shopping at it's best, with a captive audience!
I have told you guys about my perfume thing, right? I buy a new scent for every trip, so that smell becomes that place. Every time I spray that bottle, I am transported back to the tropics, or a hillside village in Spain, or whatever adventure we have found ourselves on. It is really important and special to me.
So I bought a special shelf for all that perfume :) And since I share all my not buyings with you, I like to share the fun things I do buy. Don’t worry, I bought this a couple months ago so don’t be like “ALEXIS WHAT ABOUT NOT BUYING IN REAL LIFE LIKE YOU SAID???” I just didn’t remember to take a picture til tonight after hanging up my clean clothes.

Yes. The highs are only in the 40s today. Yes. I am still wearing flip flops. Because I got no sense. I also need to address the nail polish situation down there.

Yesterday, my friend and I were at a little boutique and she was smelling the perfumes. She picked one up and said, “this one reminds me of you!” This worried me - would it smell like bananas and bad decisions? WHAT COULD IT BE AND WHY DID IT REMIND HER OF ME??? But then I smelled it and it smelled AH-MAZE-ING! So so so so good. I immediately sprayed like 4 sprays on myself!

Fun Lexi fact - when I was in kindergarten, we put on a Christmas play where all the toys come to life when no one is looking in a little toy shop run by someone you may know who wheres a red suit! My line in the play was “LETS DO THE PEPPERMINT TWIST!!” I had a swirly skirt and twisted like it was my job BECAUSE IT WAS.

Sometimes I hate when marketing works so well. I signed up for a free sample of this Almond Soothing Facial Cream because I love free stuff. When I got it, I thought, I should keep this tiny thing in my purse for facial moisture emergencies! And now I love it so much I need get a real person size instead of the sample size. DARN IT! THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THEY WANTED ME TO DO!
